  1. As the person who is laughed at for watching the weather and being concerned about her children, I hesitate to mention the fact that I told you so. I would like to mention, however, that you probably will survive. Just in case you need encouragement you might consider calling your “younger brother” who survived several sub zero winters in Alaska. Actually you could call your neice and nephew who were there under the same conditions. Now tughen up and don’t become a whiner.

    Love
    Your loving mother.

  2. As I sat on the back porch, (wearing shorts and a tshirt) this morning I read your blog and smiled.

Having spent a December in Chicago during boot camp, I found out that Alabam boys do not really understand what “cold” is.

“Cold” to Alabama boys are those 3-6 days each year when the temperature is below 32 degrees for a few hours.

    Welcome to Wisconsin, Alabama boy

  3. Rob,

Your parents are ruthless. And yes, here in lower Alabama we have nothing to complain about. It’s in the upper 60’s and I’ll be riding my Harley this afternoon.

Speaking from experience – my dad was in the Navy and we moved every 2-3 years until I was 13 – I do find it kinda funny that people who move to a new climate find it “fun” and “exhilarating” until they get tired of it.

So as you’re dad said, let’s see how things are going in January.

Sorry, I just can’t stop laughing at your parents. They are soooo funny. Way to go guys. Don’t let him get away with anything.

  4. Robert,

I have been reading your posts for the last few days when things are slow at work and I must say that I am very impressed with your work as a youth leader and one who is willing to embrace their faith in God by following him.

I look forward to your new posts

As the youth kids call me….PAR

  5. @mike – if you think they’re rough on me on the blog you should come over CHRISTmas lunch. still please don’t encourage them. it only makes things worse.

@PAR – thanks for the kind words. of course, since you’re looking forward to my new posts it’s obvious that you haven’t actually read any of the previous posts. 😉 the only people who read my blog are those who i pay, those who feel like they owe me for one reason or another, and those who are doing some form of penance.
