staying to the talking points

wow. this is incredible. it’s a mash up of mccain’s and obama’s answers to questions within the three debates. it really let’s you know how obama and mccain say the same thing over and over. the tone and the words are the same every time. it’s incredible.

when i used to preach in the sunday morning services of parkview (which i think all concerned would say was thankfully rare) i would get bored of my own sermon after the second service. i hated preaching the same thing three times. i can’t imagine saying the same thing over and over.

SIDE NOTE – i’m pretty much ready for the election to be over.

putty is a CHRISTian

i’m using this video at tapestry tomorrow night. it should be fun. even better matthew has made another video for tomorrow that goes with the scripture. one of the things that i was hoping would happen within tapestry is that there would be expressions of worship that came from within the community rather than us just using other people’s stuff. we’ve already had a couple of original songs done during our assemblies and now we have a video that has come out of the group.

i get a little more excited each week.

SIDE NOTE – i think the family is going to see a pumpkin trebuchet tomorrow. if we do i will, of course, have photos.

cellist & a beat boxer

i’m putting this audio file up here because i think it is cool. the ladies and gents who have been leading the music at tapestry have been doing an incredible job. heather has a done an amazing job of getting some very creative and talented people involved in leading worship at tapestry. this past sunday they wanted to start things off with a cellist and a beat boxer. i had no idea what it would be like but it was great. it was a great and unusal way of starting off worship. it just makes me excited for more.

anyhow, you can hear the audio below.

always fun to find something you’ve done posted by someone else on the web. the above slideshow is found on slideshare. i go there every now and then to get new ideas for more engaging powerpoint presentations. i looked at this slide show out of curiosity and low and behold i ran into my own photos. slides 30 and 36 are from the youth worship service that i used to lead at parkview in baton rouge. it’s fine that the guy used them because i list them as creative commons (though it would have been nice to have been notified). it was fun to randomly run into something that i have done.

CHRISTian the lion

this is the video i talked about with the tapestry launch team today at lunch.

basically these two guys raised a lion from cub to lion. when he was too big they figured out a way to release him into the wilds of africa. after a year they wanted to visit and see how he was doing. when they got to africa they were told that CHRISTian (the lion) was now the head of his pride and would not remember him for he was now completely wild. this video is what happened.

it gets a little sappy at the end but it’s still cool.
