SURVIVOR!
i know this will lower your opinions of me (who knew it was possible to get any lower?) but ii feel the need to admit that i love survivor. it’s one of the three televisions shows that i watch:
i’m so excited that the new survivor season has started. now i’m going to watch the show.

monster house
the fam and i just got back from seeing monster house. it was okay. the ending was pretty good but it seem to me that the movie took a long time to get going. still not a bad movie, just not necessarily one that i will go out and buy the second it comes out on dvd.
highlights
- the way the movie forced you to reconsider who the “bad guys” were at the end of the movie – was it the old man? the old woman? the house? the egg throwers?
- the team work of the heroes in the final scenes of the movie – everyone was involved and important.
- the textures within the animation – very cool details through out the movie.
- john heder as the fast food, video gaming sage.
- nick canon as officer lister
my library
i used to have my study library cataloged and labeled. the reason for this is that i am constantly using books, recommending books, and loaning my books out. it becomes a problem when i can’t figure out where a book is on my shelves or who has it. i did this when i was in missouri five years ago and everything got mixed up when i moved to baton rouge. in addition to this i have obviously acquired allot more books in the past five years. this all basically means that my library is a mess.
when i couldn’t find a certain book last week i reached my boiling point. i had been promising that i would organize my books again soon and not finding this one book was the last straw. something had to be done. what has been done is that i have started entering my books into library thing. i’ve committed to entering twenty books a day and i usually do more than that just by taking advantage of the spare wasted moments of my day.
if you would like to see what is in my library (only a small part has been entered thus far) you can look at my catalog here.
the simple life
blaine, connie, julie, laura, and i spent the afternoon recording video for some intros for the view over the next three weeks. i’m going to be talking about living a simple life and blaine and laura had the brilliant idea of making a mock version of “the simple life“. you’ll see the first video wednesday at the view or thursday on the youth ministry website.
i’m a freak
i started reading freakonomics today and it is an amazing book. the book is about using the theories and formulas of economics to deal with real world problems. i only read a little today but i am already really into the book. it’s a bit freaky but at least this far it is well worth reading.
see what you can do with a little time and effort.
this was in my bloglines account today. some guy’s co-wrokers took one side of their conference room and made an elvis image out of post-it notes. it’s amazing. can you imagine how much time and effort went into that?
you can see more photos of the post-it elvis by clicking here.
you can read about how it was done here.
the general lee
wether you are a “dukes of hazard” fan or not you have to be impressed with the stunt driving within this video. it’s pretty impressive.
just click here to see the video.
finally
back on april 14th i confessed to y’all my dirty little secret – that i hide movies at blockbuster. this confession took place in regards to “hotel rwanda.” i hide a copy of it within blockbuster so that i could come back and get it later. of course, that was a month ago. i had meant to go back and rent the movie within a few days. unfortunately that did not happen. i didn’t actually watch the movie until last night. “hotel rwanda” has been out for quite sometime now and thus they had plenty of copies available for rent. all that hiding for nothing.
another genocide is taking place in the sudan. you can be a part of doing something about it so it won’t be another rwanda by going to darfur: a genocide we can stop. you can also write directly to president bush and urge him to do something by clicking here.
dancing with the stars
after hearing of the new abc television show “dancing with the stars” i believe that humanity has reached as low as it can get. the end of the world can come at anytime now.
