flickr group

i’ve set up a flickr group for pictures from those involved within the view. all you have to do is join flickr (which is free for small photo uploads) and then tell me what your username is. i’ll then invite you to be a part of the group – it’s a public group that anyone can view but you have to be invited to join. if you take pictures i would love to have a chance see your pictures and talk about them.

you can view the group by clicking HERE.

i would recommend that if you join flickr and add photos that you add lower resolution photos. you only get ten megs of transfer space a month for the free account and that gets eaten up quickly with print quality photos. we’ll be adding more pictures to the group every now and then.

A SIDE NOTE – i have nine gmail invitations for anyone who is interested. gmail is google’s webmail system that has several advantages over the other free email services. of course, since it is in beta right now in order to get gmail you have to have an invitation from someone who already has it. so if you would like an invitation email me at robert.terrell AT gmail.com.

santa baby

this is the 20′ tall santa that is on top of the benny’s car wash on coursey boulevard. i thought it was funny looking so i snapped a picture of it.

i’ve recently decided that i’m going to try and learn at least a little something about digital photography. i figure the best way to do that is to read as much as i can and have a photo project each week that forces me to takes pictures. photo friday puts a theme on their website each week and then takes submissions of photos interpreting that theme. it’s not really a competition. it’s more like a group of people working on things together by putting up their pictures and making comments on each other. i don’t ever expect to be a decent photographer but i figure working on this could at least help me improve a little. if nothing else, t will help me to take at least one picture each week.

if any of you guys & girls know of a good online tutorial for digital photography i would appreciate the url. thanks.
